The Role of a MERAS Representative

This is a one day workshop for elected MERAS representatives.

The aims of the course are to increase the participants:

  • Knowledge around their role as a representative, and their collective employment agreement.
  • Developing an enhanced understanding of issues in health and maternity services and their impact on employed midwives.
  • Acquiring skills in relation to; building the union in the workplace through recruiting new members, developing skills in communication and advocacy of workplace issues and an introduction to problem solving.
